SMS & WhatsApp Messaging Terms
OwnVouch uses text message (SMS) and WhatsApp messages to send one-time passcodes and account security notifications when you choose phone-based sign-in. By providing your phone number and requesting a code, you consent to receive these messages.
- Message types: one-time passcodes (OTP) for sign-in and verification, and account security alerts. These are transactional, not marketing messages.
- Frequency: varies based on your use of the Service — typically one message per sign-in or verification attempt.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier and plan.
- Opt-out: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving SMS from us. Because phone-based sign-in depends on receiving these codes, opting out of SMS will disable phone sign-in for your account — you can still sign in using email OTP, Google, or Apple. Reply HELP for help, or contact support@ownvouch.com.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Messages are delivered through our provider, Twilio; see Privacy Policy for how phone numbers are handled.
When you'll get a message
OwnVouch only sends a text or WhatsApp message in response to something happening on your account:
- You sign in with your phone number and request a one-time passcode
- An action in the app asks you to confirm it with a passcode
- There's a security event on your account that you need to know about
These are transactional messages. We don't send promotional texts over SMS or WhatsApp.

Your phone number and privacy
Messages are delivered by Twilio, which processes your phone number only to deliver them. We keep delivery metadata (for example, whether a message was delivered) as part of running and securing the Service. Your number is never shown to someone performing a public lookup on a device. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Common questions
Is there a charge for these messages?
OwnVouch doesn't charge for them. Your carrier's standard message and data rates may apply, depending on your plan.
I didn't receive a code. What should I do?
Delivery depends on your carrier and signal, and carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Check that the number you entered is correct and request a new code. If it still doesn't arrive, you can sign in with an email passcode, Google, or Apple instead.
Someone sent me a code I didn't request.
Don't share it with anyone — OwnVouch will never ask you for a passcode. If you think someone is trying to get into your account, email support@ownvouch.com immediately.
Can I use OwnVouch without SMS?
Yes. Phone-based sign-in is optional; email passcode, Sign in with Google, and Sign in with Apple all work without text messages.
